I met Chelsea through a past client of mine who just so happened to be her sister, Sarah. After Chelsea saw the work I did for Sarah, she added me on Facebook and we began to chat. I run a project called The Flower Project, a photo projected dedicated to photographing nude women and sharing their story. She reached out to me about the project and she passed the initial interview, and we shot together in the Fall. When it was time for Chelsea to graduate months later, she contacted me to photograph her graduation photos, emphasizing that she didn’t want the same typical photos you see of senior sessions, but something more fun and personal to her, as we definitely agreed that neither of us are a fan of fake smiles.
Opal is Chelsea’s service dog who attended every single class at UCF alongside Chelsea. Suffering from random faints and anxiety, Opal is Chelsea’s best friend and in her own words, she would not have been able to graduate had it not been for her. What better way to commemorate and thank her canine friend than to have her pose in her photos together?
